Officials at Old Trafford already planning for Louis van Gaal exit

Manchester United have reportedly already approached Carlo Ancelotti regarding the managerial job at Old Trafford.

The current boss, Louis van Gaal has recently reiterated his desire to leave the club at the end of his current contract, which expires in 2017, and work is already going on behind the scenes regarding a replacement.

Despite Van Gaal‘s contract expiring in two years time, according to some reports, United officials have already approached Ancelotti, who’s currently out of work after losing his job at Real Madrid.

It’s believed if United can get Ancelotti to agree to the job, they will look to make the change at the end of this season, rather than wait until 2017.

Pep Guardiola from Bayern Munich is reportedly United’s number-one target, but with the Spaniard set to hold contract talks with the Bundesliga side, it looks like attentions have been turned elsewhere.

Ancelotti Open to England Return

Ancelotti has worked with some of the biggest clubs around Europe, including once in the Premier League with Chelsea, and he’s recently admitted he’d be open to a return to England.

He said: “I had a fantastic experience in France and Spain.

“The most important thing is to start to find a club with a good project and be competitive. If it’s in England, it’s better.

“I will stay out until the end of the season and try to find another club next season.

“Not just in England, it can be in another country, but my idea is not to start now.”
