Everton goal keeper Jordan Pickford is on the wish list of Manchester United if David De Gea leaves the club.

De Gea hasn’t penned down a new contract as he has refused to sign a deal until his demands are met by the club. The 28 year old has 18 months left on his contract and United want to rush things before it gets too late.

But the club hierarchy is also keeping their options open and has identified the Toffees keeper as the potential successor to the current United number one. Pickford has been the Everton number one since his ÂŁ30m move from Sunderland.

His exemplary performance between the sticks has also seen him being the preferred choice for Gareth Southgate and over the last few months, his stock has only risen.

De Gea has been United’s best player undoubtedly in the last couple of season and his heroics in the Red Devils goal has saved United innumerable times.

Pickford’s ability to be the perfect ball playing keeper could also be an added advantage, so overall if United do manage to sign him it would be a worthy investment.

The keeper only signed a new deal in the summer but if a club like United come calling it would be too hard to resist for the Merseysiders.
