A passionate fan of Manchester United killed himself on Saturday after finding out that his side had lost 1-0 to Newcastle United.
A Yohan Cabaye strike in the second-half was enough to conflict back-to-back defeats for David Moyes’ men at Old Trafford and it was one defeat too much for this Kenyan fan.
John Macharia, who was 28-year-old, was found dead after he jumped from the seventh floor of his apartmant block after hearing that United had been beaten once again.
‘Macharia jumped from seventh floor of an apartment at Pipeline Estate after realising that his team Manchester United lost 1-0 to Newcastle at Old Trafford and committed suicide,’ Nairobi’s County Police Commander Benson Kibui told Reuters.
This is the second Kenyan fan to be found dead after a football game result.
Suleiman Omondi hung himself back in 2009 after watching Arsenal lose 3-1 to Manchester United in the Champions League.
‘The football fans should enjoy the matches… but they should not commit suicide since life is very precious,’ Kibui added.
