Everton are demanding £65 million for the Belgium striker

Manchester United will have to break the British transfer record to secure the signing of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Toffees are happy to let their 25-goal striker leave this summer, providing that the Belgian’s potential suitors meet their £65 million valuation.

Should United agree to Everton’s terms of the deal, it was smash the current British record transfer fee of £60 million that the Red Devils paid to bring Angel Di Maria in from Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old has admitted that he wants to leave Goodison Park, after proving exactly why Chelsea should never have sold him in the first place.

Lukaku attracting huge interest

Lukaku’s father, Roger, has admitted that Bayer Munich, Atletico Madrid and Juventus are also interested in signing the Belgium international.

And United are not concerned that their uncertain future in the Champions League could effect whether Lukaku would move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are currently fifth in the Premier League, behind local rivals Manchester City who occupy the final Champions League place.

Lukaku had cost Everton a club-record £28 million, when he moved to Merseyside in 2014, and has become the first player to score 25 goals in a season for the Toffees since Gary Lineker.
