AC Milan want midfielder on short-term loan
Manchester United have rejected an approach from Serie A side AC Milan for midfielder Marouane Fellaini, according to reports.
The Belgian is commonly used as a substitute for Louis van Gaal, and his long-term future is believed to be uncertain with his first-team status diminishing in recent months.
The arrivals of Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger over the summer pushed Fellaini down the pecking order and it’s reported that he could seek a move away from Old Trafford.
Loan Offer Turned Down
However, it doesn’t look likely to happen this month, with United having reportedly rejected a loan-offer from AC Milan.
The Serie A side wanted to bolster their midfield for the remainder of the campaign, but they’ve been told no by United, who are keen to keep Fellaini as a back-up option.
Milan couldn’t afford to permanently buy the 28-year-old and couldn’t afford his weekly-wage either, so they went with a loan offer to United, but due to their injury issues and already small squad, the offer was turned down.
