Manchester United set to re-sign former player

Manchester United will be without Eric Bailly for another 2-3 months and Jose Mourinho has pressed the panic button.

The Red Devils manager does not want to head into the 2nd half of the season with just 3 central defenders as they will be playing in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and the Champions League alongside the Premier League.

As per reports in the English media today, Manchester United are set to re-sign Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion. The Ireland star was sold to the Baggies by Louis Van Gaal 2.5 years ago.

The centre-back has attracted interest from Manchester City and Arsenal as well but a return to his former club is what he prefers. Mourinho is convinced that he will be the ideal signing for them to chance Manchester City till the very end.

Pep Guardiola tried to sign him in the summer but Tony Pulis refused to let go of him. Now that the manager has been sacked and the Baggies do not see themselves surviving in the league beyond this season, they have decided to cash-in on Evans.
