Manchester United are “bracing themselves for defeat” in their attempt to bid to convince their midfielder to remain at Old Trafford.

It seems that the Red Devils and José Mourinho are bracing themselves for a future without Marouane Fellaini, 30-year-old midfielder.

Marouane Fellaini and Manchester United look set to part ways as negotiations for a new deal have reportedly broken down. The Belgian international is out of contract at the end of the season and despite continued attempts by club officials to convince Fellaini to stay, no progress on a new deal has been made and leaving the Red Devils with a huge blow.

Marouane Fellaini, who is currently out with a knee injury, is believed to want one final challenge elsewhere before hanging up his boots and the reports say that he “has suitors in Italy, Spain and Turkey”, who are all ready to offer him lucrative deals.

Since joining United from Everton in 2013, Fellaini has played 149 competitive games and proven to be a key player for Mourinho. The Portuguese coach has already expressed his desire to add another midfielder to his squad, which will now only be accelerated as Fellaini and Michael Carrick, who is hanging up his shoes at the end of the season will leave.
