Reports in Italy are claiming that Manchester United have officially offered Juventus a huge £61.25million pound in an attempt to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford.

Pogba left Old Trafford in 2012 after being unable to establish himself under Sir Alex Ferguson but has since gone to be considered one of Europe’s finest midfielders whilst playing in Italy.

The 21 year old, recently signed a new 5-year contract in Turin after successfully establishing himself in the first team and being very much an asset to the Juventus squad.

Louis Van Gaal seems keen on improving his squad during the winter transfer window and has apparently been told by United vice-chairman Ed Woodward that the funds are available to him in a bid to get the Red Devils back in the Champions League.

The general director of Juventus Giuseppe Marotta said yesterday that it would prove difficult to keep Pogba at Juventus in an offer was made.

If United are successful in this bid then it would break the record they set after signing Angel Di Maria for £59.7million pound.
