Manchester United will try to beat Arsenal in the race to sign William Carvalho if their deal for Arturo Vidal fails. United have been in talks to bring Vidal to Old Trafford all summer but are yet to agree a fee with Juventus despite concuring personal terms with the Chilean. It is expected that the talks will continue in the coming days, but according to ESPN Reports the Red Devils will turn to William Carvalho if a deal cannot be finalized soon. Arsenal have made a £24 million offer for the Portugal International, which has been reject by current club Sporting Lisbon, however manager Arsene Wenger is determined to compromise. The 22-year-old has spoken about his desire to move to the Emirates this summer, but United are hoping to lure the player to Old Trafford instead, despite no European involvment.
