Manchester United will set their sights on Borussia Dormtund defender Neven Subotic after his clubmate Mats Hummels rubbished talk of a January switch to the Premier League club.
United’s need for a defensive overhaul has been well documented over the opening few weeks of the season and Hummels had been heavily linked with a move.
But the recently appointed club captain has stated that he isn’t looking to move anywhere and is happy at Dortmund. “It’s nice to hear that big clubs like that are interested in you. I take that as a a compliment. But it doesn’t influence me in any way, otherwise. We earn enough here in Dortmund.”
Serbian Subotic joins Aston Villa’s Ron Vlaar on the United’s shopping list, although both players are reportedly in line for new deals from their clubs. United will look to test their resolve to keep hold of the players by making a move in January according to reports.
