Jorginho has been linked with host of European clubs
Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is likely to leave the club in the summer on a free transfer as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Despite club’s attempts to offer him new and improved contract, the player has rejected it. He has been linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus.
Can’s departure will leave a big gap in Liverpool’s midfield and wants to add a new midfielder this summer. According to reports, Liverpool have identified Napoli’s midfielder Jorginho as a replacement for the departing German. The reds are confident over their chances of signing him and are ready to pay £50 million.
According to Independent, Manchester United are also interested in Jorginho.
Jose Mourinho has prioritized signing a central midfielder as Michael Carrick set to retire at the end of the season and Marouane Fellaini likely to leave this summer. The Portuguese was keeping tabs on Toni Kroos but the Italy International is his priority now. He has been very impressed by his displays in Italy.
Jorginho is known for his composure, versatility and plays as a deep lying playmaker which is a perfect fit for both the managers. So it now just remains to be seen who can present the most tempting offer to the midfielder.
