Manchester United have been told to cough up £75million if they want to land Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid.

The Argentine winger has told Carlo Ancelotti that he wants to leave the Bernabeu this Summer, after the Spanish club spent big in order to land James Rodriguez from AS Monaco after the Colombian had a superb World Cup.

With Rodriguez arriving, Di Maria lost his place in the first-team, despite having a great campaign last season, and the winger has now told Ancelotti that he’s ready to leave and does not want to stay at the club as a bench player.

Ancelotti revealed today that Di Maria has said goodbye to the club and everyone involved, and will complete his move away, reportedly to Manchester United, in the next fortnight.

“Di Maria has not trained with us today and he came in to say goodbye to the players and people at the club,” Ancelotti told a news conference in Madrid.

“There is nothing official yet but it is being sorted out.

“The decision is his and the club has done what it could to keep him here.”

However, Madrid have told United they will have to pay at least £75m in order to land the 26-year-old.
