Louis van Gaal is a huge admirer of the Chilean
Manchester United are interested in luring Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez to Old Trafford, according to reports.
The Chilean international has been in red-hot form for the Gunners since arriving last summer from FC Barcelona, and his consistent performances have caught the eye of Louis van Gaal.
United are always in the market for big-names and top-class players, with Thomas Muller and Neymar previously linked, but according to reports in Spain, Van Gaal has turned his attentions closer to home.
Deal Looking Unlikely
It’s believed Arsene Wenger won’t sell Alexis to a fierce-rival as he believes those days are over, but United could persuade the North London club with an offer of around £53million.
Arsenal purchased Alexis for £32m last summer, so it would make them a quick £21m profit.
However, it’s looking unlikely that a deal will be possible with Arsenal officials preparing a new contract for Alexis.
The Chile star is also wanted by La Liga giants Real Madrid.
