Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic has revealed he rejected a move to the Premier League, the Daily Mirror report.
The Croat penned a lucrative transfer in a £17 million deal to the Spanish title holders.
Mandzukic was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, however chose a move to Madrid over North London, where he has since scored five times for Atleti.
And the former Bayern Munich striker, who left the Bundesliga, and the Allianz Arena behind for the move, revealed in an interview that he turned down a move to Arsenal.
“I had better offers than from Atletico,” said the striker on Croatian television.
“There were calls from the UK that interested me, but I believe that their style of football is simply not my way. There were also interest from Italy and some concrete offers from Russia.
“I’m very pleased with everything. I couldn’t choose a better path after leaving Bayern Munich. The fans here accepted me immediately.
“Atletico was the best possible decision for me at this stage of my career.”
