FC Barcelona goalkeeper not interested in transfer talk

Liverpool have been dealt a major transfer blow with news coming out of Spain suggesting Marc-Andre ter Stegen isn’t interested in leaving FC Barcelona over the summer.

The goalkeeper has been strongly linked with a move away from the Nou Camp after falling behind Claudio Bravo and becoming the club’s cup ‘keeper.

After growing frustrated at the lack of game-time, Ter Stegen was reportedly considering a move away from the La Liga champions, and with Liverpool looking for a new goalkeeper themselves, it was reported that they’d launch a formal bid at the end of the season.

Simon Mignolet has come under a lot of scrutiny in recent months, with some very questionable decisions and poor performances.

Klopp Interest

Despite the Belgian’s woes, he was offered a new five-year deal earlier in the season, but it’s believed Jurgen Klopp still wants to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer, with Ter Stegen near the top of his list.

According to reports in Spain, the Barca ‘keeper is not considering a move away from the club because he and his family are happy with life in Spain.

Ter Stegen has been with Barcelona since 2014, after he completed his switch from German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach.
