Marc Cucurella expected to be out for three months with an injury.
The Chelsea defender suffered a nasty ankle injury and underwent surgery that would see him return only after three months.
The former Brighton defender who arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer had a disastrous 2022/23 campaign with the Blues.
Cucurella has done a decent job for Mauricio Pochettino, playing at left-back and right-back.
The versatile defender has had a mixed-bag season with his future not completely secure at the West London club.
Sevilla are interested in the left-back despite his injury troubles as the Spanish giants are struggling with their defensive injuries.
Cucurella has performed well for the Blues and has become an important figure in the past few months.
The full-back is expected to be out until March and transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Spaniard is not making any move this January.
“Despite some recent reports, I can say no, Marc Cucurella will not go to Sevilla and he’s also currently injured so there’s nothing more to speak about on this at this stage,” Romano told his Substack column.
“Marc will be out for some weeks and in any case, Sevilla is not a likely destination.”
