Brendan Rodgers has issued a timely ultimatum to Mario Balotelli.
The Liverpool manager has issued a warning to the controversial Italian that his career at Anfield is on the line, following a string of off the field incidents over recent weeks.
And it has been reported that Rodgers is running out of time with his summer signing.
Balotelli, aged 23, is currently being investigated for a post of a racist nature on Instagram, and has hasn’t found the net in the Premier League since his £16 million arrival from Italian Serie A side, AC Milan.
Liverpool boss Rodgers has taken a hard line on the players’ behaviour.
“As a club we felt that was the solution at the time. Obviously Daniel Sturridge has shown in his career so far that he gets injuries. We had Rickie Lambert. Fabio Borini was looking as though he was gone so it would have been unfair to leave Rickie, as a 32-year-old, as the only striker we had. But although I felt signing Mario was a risk, as a group we couldn’t afford not to at the time.”
