Liverpool’s backroom staff to be cut

Liverpool’s end of season form has sparked the board into action as they prepare a mass exodus of coaching staff and backroom members.

The club chairman, John Werner, flew over to England last week in order to hold talks with Brendan Rodgers about the manager’s future. Despite the poor campaign, Rodgers was informed that his job is safe.

However, his members of staff around him have not been so lucky as Werner continues to make drastic changes at the club.

Liverpool Departures

Rodgers’ right-hand man Colin Pascoe has been sacked, whilst coach Mike Marsh has also been released by the club following a disappointing campaign.

As well as the coaching staff, Liverpool‘s transfer committee are now under threat after they failed to invest the Luis Suarez money appropriately.

Liverpool raised ÂŁ75million from selling the star-striker to FC Barcelona, but wasted the majority of the money on the likes of; Dejan Lovren, Lazar Markovic and Adam Lallana.

As of yet, none have lost their jobs officially, but it’s reported that their positions at the club are under review.

Michael Edwards, who is the club’s head of performance and analysis, Dave Fallows, who is the head of recruitment and Barry Hunter, who is the chief scout, are all in danger of losing their jobs.

Potential Replacements

Liverpool’s board are already working on finding replacements for Pascoe and Marsh with several names being mentioned.

Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman, Sami Hyypia, Sammy Lee and Jamie Carragher have all been linked.
