Midfielder admits title-challenge can happen without spending

Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey is confident that the current crop of players at the Emirates Stadium are good enough to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The Gunners finished third during the 2014/2015 campaign, and also retained their FA Cup title after a 4-0 win against Aston Villa at Wembley, but their aim is to now push on and mount a serious title challenge.

Arsenal’s Campaign

Arsenal started the season poorly, but during 2015, they pushed on and for a moment looked like title contenders, until Chelsea stepped up a gear and eased to the title.

If Ramsey and co. can start next year better, they will feel that a title challenge is on the cards, and the Welshman doesn’t even think signings are needed.

Ramsey Speaks Signings

‘Every club brings in new faces and a few leave,’ he said.

‘Even with this group of players now I believe if everyone was fit in the season we would have a great opportunity of competing for the Premier League.

‘This team has come on a lot over the last few years and if we can get off to a good start next season we will challenge.’

Players Linked and Arsenal Developing

Arsenal have been linked with the likes of; Petr Cech, Gonzalo Higuain, Morgan Schneiderlin, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Arturo Vidal and Jackson Martinez.

Ramsey also spoke about the pleasure of being part of a developing Arsenal squad.

‘The club is in a good place where they can afford not to let players go, we’re building on this team rather than seeing players leaving.

‘It is a nice feeling and means that the group can stick together. The understanding is already there, so it can only get stronger.’
