Liverpool and Manchester United put on red alert

Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin is ready to complete a transfer to a big club, according to his agent.

The Italian international has been consistently linked with a move away from the Serie A club for the past few seasons, with the Premier League duo of Liverpool and Manchester United always reportedly interested.

Both could be in the market for new ‘keepers this summer, with Jurgen Klopp eyeing competition for Simon Mignolet, and United still fearing David De Gea will be leaving the club.

Perin has been Genoa’s number-one for three years now, but the 23-year-old is eager on securing a move to a bigger club in order to further his career.

However, he knows that a move is only likely to happen if other transfers happen first and starts a knock-on effect of transfers.

Speaking about the goalkeeper’s future, his agent, Matteo Roggi has confirmed that a transfer could happen in the near future.

Ready For Move

“I’ve been hearing these [transfer] rumours for the last four years,” he told Italian radio station Kiss Kiss.

“Unless the wheel of international goalkeepers starts spinning, nobody is going to move.

“As soon as somebody moves, a domino effect begins.

“He’s ready for a leap of quality into a top club, but he could also take an intermediate leap and play in the Europa League.

“We’re ready for the change, but we’re peaceful about it.

“We won’t leave just for the sake of leaving, as he’s already playing in a great team.”
