Maurizio Sarri has claimed he didn’t have the opportunity to say goodbye to Napoli players. Sarri left the Italian club for London as he took up the charge at Chelsea at the beginning of this season.

The Italian is known for his unique brand of passing football. It might have been a slow start at the Stamford Bridge but the results are pretty encouraging and the Blues are considered to be one of the top title contenders this season.

There had been a long delay over Sarri’s appointment as the club got entangled in some issues with his former club Napoli who appointed Carlo Ancelotti as his successor.

Sarri said, “It all happened so quickly, I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to the players. I want to do it now and say: ‘You are extraordinary lads. Continue like this, because you can do it and achieve that dream we only glanced.”

“I always liked it when they called me the ‘Commander’ in Naples, as it made me feel like a representative of the city. It also weighed on me, because I knew what the people of Naples wanted from me.

“I was able to have a walk in London after the Arsenal game, but then I ran into a bunch of Napoli supporters and they wouldn’t let me move a step! It was very pleasing, as it meant they haven’t forgotten me.”
