Icardi have been heavily linked with Chelsea and Real Madrid

Mauro Icardi has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world with his impressive performances for Italian giants Inter Milan in Serie A. Since joining then from Sampdoria back in 2013, he has quickly settled and become an indispensable part of the team.

The 25 year old has been on fire this season, scoring 26 Serie A goals and last month reached 100 league goals for the club in style by scoring a hat trick. His sparkling form this season has caught attention of many top European clubs.

But Real Madrid and Chelsea have been the most heavily linked with the Argentine. The Spanish giants have been keeping tabs on him for a long time and there were reports that they were willing to pay his release clause which is just less than £100 million in January but a deal never went through. They could again make a move for him this summer.

Though Real are also other strikers like Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski. Chelsea are also struggling in the front this season after new signing Alvaro Morata struggled to establish himself in England and the Blues could move for a proven striker like Icardi in the summer.

And Icardi might have put his suitors on high alert after admitting that he is unsure about his future with the club.

‘Inter have always been my team,’ he told Argentinian site Ole. ‘When I was little, I always chose them on PlayStation. That’s why I enjoy playing here and chose to stay there.

‘I can’t predict the future. For this, I enjoy the present and always give my best. Like I told you, I don’t know what the future holds.

‘My present is here. It’s where we have our home, our friends and our life.’
