Television pundit Paul Merson has urged league-leaders Chelsea to complete a cut-price £15million transfer for Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao.
The former Aston Villa and Arsenal star thinks that the Columbia international would be a real asset to Jose Mourinho’s side.
Merson said: “If he went down to £15million then I think there would be a lorry load of teams after him. He is a good player and I think he’ll get fitter and fitter.
“He hasn’t really had a season; he has only been in and out. He needs to play 20 games and then I think he’ll be back to where he was when, for me, he was of the best centre-forwards in world football.
“I think Chelsea would take him for £15million – they need another centre-forward.” he added.
Manchester United have the first option to sign him in the summer transfer window but only for £43.5million. However, reports suggest the Red Devils will decline the option to sign him.
