A France based agent has ruled out Lionel Messi moving to Paris Saint-Germain.

Messi, whose Barcelona side take on PSG in the Champions League this evening, had previously been linked with a move to the Ligue 1 title holders.

The 27-year-old Argentine international has hinted that he is considering a move away from Spain, following a series of personal issues in the country, following his tax evasion case.

But the French capital will not be a proposed destination for the Barcelona player, with an agent based in France suggesting that any deal would not happen.

Speaking to Sport24, he said: “The PSG project is exciting, but Ligue 1 is prohibitive.

“I do not see Messi playing against Guingamp or Reims.

“It has put off many players. This is also why PSG are obliged to pay their players double their value.”

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi also revealed that a Parisian move would not occur, for either Messi, or Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are happy at Barcelona and Madrid.

“I respect these two clubs and I have a good relationship with their presidents.

“If I was interested in one of their players, first I would talk to their president.”

The news will be good for both Chelsea and Manchester City, who are plotting to throw money at the player in an attempt to convince him to sign.
