Michael Keane is very keen to secure a win against Liverpool and in the process wants to dash their title hopes.

On the back of their 5-0 thrashing of Watford, the Reds are facing a daunting task to maintain their title bid intact. Any slipups at this crucial moment would hand leverage to Manchester City who are sitting just one point behind the table toppers.

Everton had a solid outing in the Merseyside fixture last time but a howler form Jordan Pickford saw Divock Origi pounced on the loose ball as Jurgen Klopp’s side pulled off a last minute victory.

But since then a lot of water has flown under the bridge and Keane wants to beat Liverpool as he is eyeing a seventh place finish. “It’s not the main reason we want to win the game – we want to win the game for ourselves.

“We’re chasing seventh place ourselves, but in the back of our heads, if we can take points off Liverpool and get a win, that will dent their title chances which is great. That should make the fans happy.

“We want to put in a performance and we want to win the game, and we want the fans to be happy. If that’s what they want, then that’s what we want.”
