Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has ended speculation about a move away and has also admitted that he ‘cannot wait’ to play alongside Cesc Fabregas.

Mikel had been linked with the likes of Inter Milan and Valencia repeatedly, but today has ended rumours about his future as it looks very likely that he will pair Fabregas in Chelsea’s midfield next season.

‘I don’t have a problem with the signing of Cesc Fabregas,’ he said. ‘We have played against each other a lot of times. We don’t play in the same position anyway.’

And despite offers for a move away from Stamford Bridge from the two clubs mentioned above, Mikel wants to continue his eight-year association with Jose Mourinho’s side.

‘Chelsea are my home away from home, my second home. You never know what’s going to happen in football, but I’m very happy at Chelsea and I want to remain at Chelsea.’

‘I still have three years left on my contract and want to stay there. I want to congratulate Cesc with his transfer and I’m looking forward to playing with him.’
