Swansea boss Garry Monk has told striker Wilfried Bony that he can help him become an even better player if he stays at the club.

Bony, with a ÂŁ20M release clause in his contract, and with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham all keen, scored 25 goals for the Swans last season.

Swansea insist they have received no offers for Bony. And manager Monk said:

“I have said all along how important Wilfried is to this club. For me, I can help him become even better this season.

“We saw a very good Bony last season, but with his work ethic and what we are trying to achieve here, he can get even better.

“Unless we receive a concrete offer, and we want to do business, it doesn’t matter”.

As well as keeping Bony, Monk is taking a look at strengthening his own squad, with Tottenham’s Kyle Naughton among his targets.
