Mourinho: ‘Don’t expect a major overhaul at Chelsea this summer’

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has warned Blues fans not to expect a raft of changes at Stamford Bridge this summer.

The club are sitting top of the Premier League, and have the Capital One Cup safely tucked away in their trophy cabinet.

But they were shocked by Bradford City in the FA Cup and saw their Champions League dreams ended by Paris St Germain.

Chelsea are one of a host of clubs linked with ÂŁ50m rated Liverpool striker Raheem Sterling.

But, even though admitting new faces may well be coming to the club, Mourinho insists only a little tinkering is needed.

He said: “Everything starts with the squad we have, and the players we want to keep.

“In that regard there is not a big space for new faces. The new faces will be a couple and will be a consequence of what the market can dictate.

“I try and be loyal to players. They deserve that loyalty for what they’re giving.

“Even if direct competitors come in with huge amounts to buy top players, if my squad gives everything and gives us the Premier League title, loyalty will be stronger than a desire to buy new players.”
