Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has signalled his disappointment with Chelsea’s performance in their 1-1 draw with Slovenian champions Maribor.
The London club were lucky to get a draw, as they conceded many chances that should have been put away.
Maribor took the lead in the 50th minute when Macedonian striker Agim Ibraimi scored a curved finish, and the London club had to fight to get a point, when Serbian Nemanja Matic scored for Chelsea in the 73rd minute.
“I was not happy with the team and the performance so I made changes at half-time”, said Mourinho when quizzed after the game. “In the first half we didn’t play well. I was convinced the team would improve and I was proven right. However it is important to praise a team with different power to what we have and they gave everything and fought well for their point.”
The blues sit on top of Group G in the Champions League, with 8 points.
