Manchester United are in need of goals so manager David Moyes is keen to keep his attacking 5, Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, Van Persie and Kagawa. With United sitting 9th in the Premier League, strikers leaving is a problem, however, there are reports that United are chasing Monacco’s Radamel Falcao, but Moyes has dismissed these claims.

“It is easy for people to throw names up, but when they look at it more closely you might say it wasn’t that good a suggestion.”

Moyes added “I would not say we are in desperate need of an out-and-out centre-forward. We have got Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Chicharito (Hernandez), Danny Welbeck. Shinji can play in behind as well, we are covered.”

Robin van Persie is out with a thigh injury, although Moyes believes the Dutch striker could still play a part in United’s end of year fixture list.

“Robin is progressing, coming on,” he said. “He’s doing quite well. He’s feeling quite good, but we’ve got to make sure.”

Moyes will have several players avaliable to him, come January such as Anderson, Wilfied Zaha and Alex Buttner, which could be crucial as United desperately push to make up lost ground in the Premier League race.
