Jose Alberti ‘90%’ certain striker will join The Gunners

Napoli legend Jose Alberti believes current striker Gonzalo Higuain is certain to join Arsenal this Summer.

The Argentinian international is expected to leave Italy this year, after spending two years in Naples with Rafael Benitez‘s side, but after the manager left to join Real Madrid, Higuain looks set to move on as well.

According to reports, Manchester United and Chelsea are also showing interest in the forward, but a club-legend believes a deal to Arsenal is looking more likely.

Wenger’s Previous Interest

Arsene Wenger was interested in Higuain back in 2013, before he joined Napoli, but after refusing to match Real Madrid’s demands, he dropped his interest in the forward.

However, now with financial power due to paying off the stadium, Wenger could renew his interest and could lodge a formal bid this Summer in order to help out Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.

The fee in question is around £30million, and Alberti believes it will be Arsenal who sign the 28-year-old.

90% Certain

‘I’m 90% sure he will go to Arsenal,’ he said.

‘The contract could be a minimum of £3.6million-a-year.

‘It’s not possible that he will remain at Napoli this year after they missed out on the Champions League.’
