Newcastle United are hoping to secure an emergency loan deal for Chelsea’s third choice goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.

Newcastle lost both Tim Krul and Rob Elliott to injuries and had to bring in third choice goalkeeper Jak Alnwick during their shock victory over Chelsea with 17 year old Freddie Woodman the only other option for Pardew.

It is reported that Alan Pardew is hoping to bring in an experienced goalkeeper for the busy Christmas period and it seems that the 42 year old Australian could be on his way to St James Park.

Mark Scwarzer moved to Chelsea on a free in 2013 and has only featured 12 times and currently sits behind Thibaut Courtois and Petr Cech in the pecking order.
