Sky Sports news claims Neymar has told Paris Saint-Germain that he wishes to leave the Ligue 1 outfit this summer.
The Brazilian superstar has been at the very centre of heavy transfer speculation for the past year. After 2 years with the French giant, it seems like rumours have intensified and this time it seems to be more than just rumours.
Neymar understandably notified PSG sporting director, Leonardo in a Monday morning meeting about his desire to leave Parc des Princes. The Parisians tried to convince the 27-year-old into staying but it seems like his mind is made up.
Barcelona remain the front-runners in the race for Neymar, not that any other club have really contested but rivals, Real Madrid were heavily tipped to steal him away last summer.
The Blaugrana are yet to table an official bid but they will have to include players if they want to get their hands on Neymar, Sky sources claim. Philippe Coutinho is expected to be included in that deal after the introduction of Antoine Griezmann to the Camp Nou setup.
The Barcelona record-signing has failed to meet expectations in his first 18 months with the club. Ousmane Dembele is also a potential candidate for an exchange, given his struggles to break into the Barcelona starting XI.
