He will do “everything possible”, says agent

Valencia centre back Nicolas Otamendi is desperate to move to a ‘top club’ next season, according to his agent.

Manchester United are one of the favourites to sign the 27 year old, who has a reported buyout clause of £36 million at the Mestalla.

Otamendi has been previously linked with a move to United, but that could materialise this summer.

The Argentina international has played a pivotal role in Valencia finishing 4th in La Liga, and therefore qualifying for the Champions League.

Manchester United are keen to strengthen at centre half, and Otamendi’s agent Eugenio Lopez is open to doing a deal with the Old Trafford club.

Agent Wants Deal

“Nicolas is comfortable with Valencia and the fans but will have an option to improve his career,” Lopez said, in an interview with a local radio station.

“Jorge Mendes already knows that Nico wants to leave Valencia. Nico will do everything possible to get it, he will do everything possible to leave.

“If there’s an offer from a club we consider a top club, and it benefits his family, Nico wants to go. There are many discussions with several clubs who want to sign Otamendi.”
