After only 1 season at Manchester City, Brazilian right back Maicon has gone back to Italy, this time to play for Roma.
Maicon struggled heavily at City, with injuries and the form of Pablo Zabaleta in the way of him making his mark on the Premier League.
The 31 year old obviously realised that a first team spot this season would be even harder to establish, with the return of Micah Richards to Manchester City’s defence.
Roma, showed an interest in the right back and acted quickly to sign him, with Maicon already training for the Italian side.
This seems like a good deal for all parties involved. With Maicon having big wages, there was no need for City to keep him. As well as Roma wanting more defensive stability and Maicon’s aim for first team football more than likely secured.
