Reports that emerged yesterday suggested the Belgium international Divock Origi was looking to link up with Liverpool in January, despite his current loanee club Lille having made agreements for him to leave them in the Summer.
Various sources quoted him as saying, “I agreed to stay with Lille until the end of the season. If the chance came up to join Liverpool sooner, I would take it.”
However, today Origi took to Twitter to clarify his comments, but seemed to have a slight change of heart.
“I am very much looking forward to joining Liverpool next season,” wrote Origi, after pledging his commitment to Lille for the present.
