Juventus director Fabio Partici has hinted at the possibility of Mario Mandzukic leaving the club in January. The 33-year-old has been restricted to the sidelines for the most part of this season. He is yet to feature in a Serie A game.

Manchester United were interested in signing Mandzukic in the dying embers of the transfer window but a deal failed to materialise. With Lukaku and Sanchez gone and Solskjaer in dire need of firepower upfront, the Red Devils could possibly make a move for the Croatian international in January.

“He stayed a bit on the sidelines at the club, because there was a transfer taking place in Qatar and we wanted it to remain quiet,” Partici told TuttoSport, as per Sport Witness.

“It didn’t materialize, now we will talk to him and the agents to find the best possible solution.”

However, United could also face competition for Mandzukic’s signature, knowing that a lot of Chinese clubs are eyeing his services.
