Manchester United boss comments on long-running saga

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has told Pedro that he must decide if he wants to leave FC Barcelona this summer.

The Spaniard has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, but as of yet, nothing formal has come out of the reports.

Pedro Ready To Move?

Pedro is worried about the amount of first-team football he’ll get at the Nou Camp this season following the arrival of Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid, and despite wanting to stay at the club, he may be forced to move in order to play regular football.

The winger signed a four-year deal at Barca back in June, which saw his release clause come down from £107million to just £22m, but United are still refusing to activate it.

The Red Devils want to offer around £18m, but Barca officials have told them that everything under the release clause will be rejected.

Speaking in his weekly press conference, Van Gaal was asked about Pedro’s future, and he confirmed that it’s all down to the winger and what he wants to do.

Van Gaal Comments on Pedro

‘You have to ask Pedro, not me. My answer is it’s a process, it’s a club, it’s a player, and we are there also.

‘I don’t mention anything until he has signed. When he has signed I come to you and say ‘hey, Pedro is here’. That is still not the case. We shall wait and see,’ he said.
