Pep Guardiola Believes Transfer Ban Won’t Hurt Chelsea In The Carabao Cup Final

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola feels Chelsea’s transfer ban won’t affect their preparations for the Carabao Cup final.

Maurizio Sarri’s side has been dealt a major blow as FIFA has banned themselves from doing any transfer dealings in the next two transfer window. The verdict came after FIFA had found irregularities in transfers of players aged under 18.

The West London side is expected to appeal against the ban and it remains to be seen how the matter shapes in near future. City inflicted a heavy 6-0 loss on Sarri’s side and Chelsea would be hoping to avenge their humiliating loss.

They advanced to the Europa League last of 16 with a commanding win over Malmo and the players should be full of confidence when they take on the Sky Blues in the cup final on Sunday.

Guardiola said, “In the future, I don’t know.

“In terms of the game, it will not have any impact.

“Their players and their manager will be focused on winning the game.”

“I am not concerned with the reasons why they are banned.

“I cannot speak about that, because I am not the right guy to talk about that.

“I know it has changed a lot since I was a football player.

“All the teams buy young players and a lot of people buy our young players, but I don’t know what happened there.”
