Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that Petr Cech isn’t entirely happy with being back-up at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues boss made the tough decision of announcing his number-one for the season on Monday, and when he chose youngster, Thibaut Courtois, speculation grew that Cech would leave the club in search for first-team football.

The veteran isn’t keen on wasting his last years of his career on the bench, and the 32-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to France, with both Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco interested in signing him.

When asked about his goalkeeping situation, Mourinho admitted that Cech isn’t totally happy about his status at the club.

“Is he totally happy? I don’t believe so. But it’s not just him. It’s everyone who didn’t start the game this week.

“This period is hard for those players, for me, because it’s a period with one only match per week. So for the first three matches, they will feel that some people are playing more and some not.

“But in September, you have the Capital Cup, Premier League, Champions League, you play three matches a week, so everyone is playing, and you have rotation, resting, decisions. That’s an easier period for them and an easier period for me because everyone feels much better.

“But Petr’s behaviour has been fantastic, and that is important.”
