Neymar has been strongly linked with Real Madrid

Neymar moved to PSG from Barcelona for a record breaking €222 million deal last summer and super agent Pini Zahavi helped to broker the deal. He has kept close ties with Neymar with UOL Esporte claiming that he traveled to South America last month to check on the Brazilian’s recovery from foot injury.

Before the injury, Neymar was in excellent from for the French giants scoring 28 goals from 30 appearances. His goal scoring form has earned the interest from Real Madrid who are still interested in signing him this summer.

But Zahavi claims that the Brazil international needs to remain out of the shadows of Ronaldo and Messi and believes he needs independence to flourish. He suggested that move to Real Madrid will lead to the same problems that forced his exit from Barcelona.

He told Przeglad Sportowy: “Neymar did what he had to.

“There are only three football superstars – Messi, Cristiano and Neymar. They can’t play in one club.

“At Barca, Ney was always the No. 2. He was the second to shoot from free-kicks, second to the penalties, second to everything.

“He came to Spain as a young boy. He grew up. Now he’s 26 and has eight or nine years at the top level. He needs independence.”

Zahavi added on the impact a global superstar has made in France: “PSG have big plans.

“Before Neymar’s move to PSG, only French people watched Ligue 1. Neymar changed it.”
