Pochettino frustrated by international break

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that if it was up to him then he wouldn’t allow his players to go on international duty. Tottenham have had a hectic round of matches in the last two weeks which will end tomorrow against Crystal Palace. However, there is the international break where several of Spurs key players will perform. Following the international break, Tottenham have three very tough matches against Chelsea, Inter Milan and Arsenal.

They already have several injury worries in the likes of Christian Eriksen (abdomen), Dele Alli (hamstring) and Eric Dier (thigh). All three players haven’t fully recovered from their respective injuries yet their respective national teams have called them up for the international break.

Pochettino said, “Yes it is true if you said to me would you prefer all my international players stay here and rest for two weeks without competition, I would say yes. But that is impossible. That is why we were talking before about Alli and Eriksen and international duty. It is play, play, then move them there and play again. If you see our schedule for the next few months it will be so tough. How do you manage that?”

Tottenham will be hoping to register a win against Crystal Palace tomorrow.
