Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has been named as the Premier League Manager of the Month for October. Bournemouth played five matches across all competitions during October. They won against Crystal Palace, Watford, Fulham and Norwich City while drawing against Southampton. Sadly, their unbeaten run came to an end last weekend as they lost 1-2 to Manchester United.

Howe who is Bournemouth’s manager since 2012 has won this award for a second time, having previously won it last March. Bournemouth have had their finest start in the Premier League and currently sit 6th in the table. Howe who spent most of his career at Bournemouth, expressed his delight on winning the award.

The 40-year old said, “Very proud. We know how difficult it is at this level to consistently get positive results. The challenge you face from other teams is very strong. It was a very good month for us, I thought the players were excellent in their mindset to approach games, how we saw out games when we were winning. It was very professional from everybody. These things are really important because the momentum built from such periods of form can certainly help your season.”

Bournemouth next face Newcastle United at St. James’ Park tomorrow. They’ll be hoping to register their 7th Premier League win of the season.
