Mauricio Pochettino has been hit with an improper conduct charge by the FA.

The Tottenham Hotspur manager was involved in a row at the end of the match against Burnley.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has been hit with an improper conduct charge by the FA owing to the rant he threw at referee Mike Dean at the end of the match against Burnley. The Argentine gaffer had been fuming with the referring during the match, which saw Spurs enduring a shocking loss at the hands of the Clarets in their last encounter. The manager later confirmed that the north London club’s challenge for the Premier League is over owing to the loss at Turf Moor.

An official statement from the FA read, “Mauricio Pochettino has been charged with two breaches of FA Rule E3 following the game against Burnley on Saturday. It is alleged the Tottenham Hotspur manager’s language and/or behaviour at the end of the fixture – both on the pitch and in or around the tunnel area – amounted to improper conduct. He has until 18:00 [GMT] on 28 February 2019 to respond to the charge.”

Pochettino himself later admitted that he had “made a mistake” and apologised for his behaviour in the post-match press conference.
