Sergio Ramos is an injury doubt just 16 days ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League last 16 first leg against Real Madrid.
The center-back has a calf problem and will undergo more testing in the coming days. The club acknowledged on Sunday that the Spaniard was forced to leave training early due to the physical condition, as reported by Le Parisien on Saturday.
Ramos has made just five appearances for the club since joining from Real Madrid last summer due to fitness issues, and it was reported on Saturday that he had suffered another setback.
Mauricio Pochettino when asked about Ramos in a press conference said the following:
“We know that with an injury of this kind, you have to follow the evolution on a daily basis, so it is difficult to know how long he will be unavailable for training,”
There are additional fitness concerns at the French club right now, with Neymar scheduled to undergo tests on Monday after finishing his first cycle of running. Georginio Wijnaldum, meanwhile, is expected to return to the team at the end of the week following a medial collateral ligament injury.
Pochettino also stated that Lionel Messi will be available to start PSG’s game against Nice on Monday.
