Thomas Tuchel has said that Paris Saint Germain needed new faces in their side irrespective of Coup De La Ligue Loss.

The Ligue 1 champions were defeated by Guingamp to end their run in the domestic competition.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has said that the Ligue 1 giants needed to invest in new players irrespective of their loss in Coup De La Ligue, which they endured at the hands of Guingamp, who are currently placed at the bottom of the table in the Ligue 1. Neymar Jr. scored the only goal for his side but it was cancelled out by Yeni Ngbakoto while Marcus Thuram, the son of former French ace Lilian Thuram, scored the winner in the stoppage time to knock the reigning Ligue 1 champions out of the competition.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager said, “We did not need to lose to know that we must recruit.”

He added, “We were overconfident. It is hard to lose to three penalties — strange, even. I am angry about the second one — it is not a penalty, simply impossible. We were overconfident, and we lacked the hunger to finish them off, despite having the chances to do so. We have lost a shot at a trophy, so that is a tough blow for us. There are things to work on. Throughout the match, we were too relaxed.”
