Manchester United have signed Radamel Falcao on a season long loan from Monaco, with a view to a permanent move next summer.

The loan deal will cost around ÂŁ6 million pounds, with Falcao completing half of his medical earlier in France before travelling to Manchester to finalise a move to Old Trafford today.

It is understood that Falcao will earn over ÂŁ300k-a-week at United, with a fee to be believed around ÂŁ55 million if United do want to sign the striker on a permanent basis at the end of his loan spell.

United had to ask the Premier League for an extra extension past the 11pm deadline to fully complete the deal, with rumours circulating that Falcao had failed a medical.

However this has not been the case and the player is now a Manchester United forward.

The player said: “It’s a dream come true to join a club like Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity & you can’t turn that down. I’m a huge fan of English football & watch whenever i can.”

“I’ve always dreamt about playing for one of the truly great teams and winning lots of trophies.”

Falcao becomes United’s second deadline day signing with Netherlands left-back Daley Blind also arriving from Ajax.

With the Colombian hitman joining the Red Devils, Danny Welbeck has been allowed to leave for rivals Arsenal for ÂŁ16 million pounds.
