Rafa Benitez is hoping to have his injured players back in time prior to their Premier League encounter with Cardiff City.
The Magpies earned a massive victory over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday. Joselu netted the winner in the extra time to provide some much needed breather space to the manager.
But the victory came at the cost of a number of injuries as defender Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Isaac Hayden and Ciaran Clark are all facing uncertainty after picking up knocks.
Newcastle badly need to grind out something from the next match against their relegation rivals and for that Benitez will be needed the service of all of his players.
The Spaniard said, “It is important to win, it is important to score four goals and to go through.
“At the same time, you have some problems and you will lose some players. Hopefully not.
“I don’t think it is very serious [Clark]. It was a kick to his knee, an inflammation, but we will see in a couple of days.
“Jamaal, we have to wait and it is too early. It is a hamstring and you never know.”
