Arsenal and Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey will miss Wales’ Nations League clash against Republic of Ireland at Dublin owing to family reasons. Wales play their away leg against Ireland at Dublin tomorrow, having trounced them 4-1 at Cardiff last month. Ramsey scored Wales’ third goal in that match.

The Arsenal midfielder previously missed Arsenal’s Europa League clash against Qarabag in order to stay with his pregnant wife. Ramsey captained Wales in their  friendly against Spain at Cardiff last week. Spain thrashed Wales 4-1.

Upon releasing  Wales’ squad for their matches against Spain and Ireland, manager Giggs spoke about Ramsey’s situation. He said, “We have to weigh it up and it’s something for us to assess. “Obviously we are at home for the first game. That’s a plus, but we are just monitoring the situation.”

Wales are currently second in their group behind Denmark who beat them 2-0 at Aarhus. Provided Wales beat Ireland, they will be in a good position to gain promotion to League A of next season’s Nations League.
