Defender Guillermo Varela joined the Old Trafford side last summer for around £2m from Uruguayan outfit Penarol, but he is still yet to feature for the senior side.
And now reports from TMW have emerged that European Champions Real Madrid are preparing a season-long loan bid for the youngster, with the option to sign on a permanent basis.
It is reported that the La Liga side would be willing to pay around £4m to permanently acquire the right-back’s services.
As of yet, Manchester United have provided no indication as to whether they are willing to let Varela join the Bernabeu side as he still has four years left on his current contract.
